Hello.

Welcome!

Hygge by the sea

Hygge by the sea

No class wednesdays has been proving to be a lovely mid-week break, although i still would prefer to have no class on fridays for the travel schedule. Today I woke up to sun through the window so I knew I had to take advantage of the clouds finally clearing and go outside

I went for a jog after breakfast which was a fun way to explore my neighborhood on foot! I ran down to the bridge over the canal, around the water, and then back up to my apartment. It was beautiful out and there was a lot of people out and about biking, running, and walking. Even though its still really cold here, everyone is still out being active outside which I love.

I came home, showered quickly, and Izzy met me at Thorsgade so that we could bike to the beach for a picnic!

We packed up some good bread, hummus, veggies, cheese, and of course m&ms, and set off on our bikes towards Svanemølle beach. It was a COLD but fun bike ride and we biked through both Nørrebro and Østerbro so we got to see more of the city. When we finally got to the beach, we were already a little chilly but I brought a blanket so we sat under it on the rocks by the water and ate our food.

It was very hygge as the Danes say, and I had a really nice time being outside and moving around instead of being cooped up in the apartment. There is something about the ocean that really calms me and I felt very peaceful and refreshed as we sat there. That is until i realized I couldn’t feel my butt or my hands and we decided it was high time to bike home to the warmth. We made it back in time to thaw before I did 3 loads of laundry (procrastination for the win!)
